It is about 7am. just finished watching Amelie. I have to admit i really enjoyed it. call me less of a man if you wish, but it was a beautiful film. It was shot beautifully and at times i kept forgetting to read the subtitles i was getting pulled into the imagery so much. Thank you to everyone i saw mentioning this film this weekend because it finally made me check it out. Next time i go home to see my girlfriend i am going to have an Amelie movie night for us I think.
If anyone is interested, Mathieu Kassovitz, who played Nino in the film, is also a director and made a french film called Hate(La Haine) that is very good, worth checking out.
oh and Audrey Tautou(Amelie) is so cute

I'll have to check that movie out! I'm a big fan of the French films, I used to watche everything I could get my hands on when I was in high school. Now they seem to be focusing quite a bit on the more out-there stories and beautiful visuals, which I really enjoy. They have some really great comedies as well. ("Mama, There's a Man in My Bed'", "La Cage aux Folles", "Barjo", etc.) I just bought "Jean de Florette" the other day, which is depressing as all hell but very interesting, and it has the distinction of being one of the few films with Gerard Depardieu that I can stomach.
And thanks.
