I think I've decided to go ahead and take the GRE. It's funny because I actually made the decision on my own, without the gentle prodding of Mom and Dad. Whoa. I even went out and bought a GRE study book. I'm doing pretty crappy so far. I guess that's why you study.
So my plan is to study as much as I can alongside the school work I'm doing and then take the test a week after I finish my exams (so I can be back home and not be driving all over god-awful Northern Virginia to go to and from the testing site.) And if I do that, I can take it on a Saturday AND I won't have to miss any classes. Yeah word.
I think I've also figure out which school I'm going to apply to. It's a Creative Writing program, but it doesn't focus on one specific thing. It includes poetry but also novel writing, fiction, drama, film and television, and creative non-fiction. I think that would be best for me, since I'm not as thrilled as I thought I would be with poetry. I'm actually becoming more and more excited about creative non-fiction. I have a rather wacky life and writing about those experiences are sort of interesting to me.
So yeah. I think I might have a shot at this school, too, if I can ace the GRE. And I'm awesome at standardized tests. I got a 1380 on my SAT without studying. My best friend, who was the valedictorian and studied her ASS off for the SAT, got a 1400. Man was she pissed. Heh.
Anyway, this school is actually closer to home than I am currently, but I could still live out on my own. Home would be an even quicker drive down the highway. Sah-weet. I'm actually really excited about this. I hope I don't lose momentum like I usually do. That would really suck ass.
