i love it when all my favorite bands/muscians come to town at the same time? hot damn, i am excited!

this friday: MC5 at North Six with HANDSOME DICK MANATOBA!!

this saturday: MC5 again! at summerstage (free! yippee!)

this saturday night: drunken hijinks at Manatoba's with my buddy Joe who's coming to town (o.k., no this isn't exactly a musical event, but there is Handsome Dick's fabulous jukebox and i'm sure i'll get hammered and sing along to the entirety of Go Girl Crazy)

next friday: Ivan Neville's DUMPSTAPHUNK at B.B. King's! this is the BEST band i heard at jazz fest -- o.k., B.B. King was simply undeniably remarkable, but this was the best NEW band i heard at jazz fest. they take funk to a whole new level.

i love paul so much, it hurts. oh, the parka is SO coming out for this show. it's white, it's fishtailed, and i look damn fine in it. i think i'll even wear the plaid mini-skirt dress.

now i just need the damned to tour the u.s. and type o. and iron maiden to play a non-ozzfest show.
