An opportunity for more hours at work passed me by yesterday. I didn't lose my job or anything like that, didn't get to fill a position that would net me a set schedule and more work.
One thing I have found about working in radio, is that while there are guidelines and such for promotion, there isn't a set criteria. I guess what I am saying is even though I didn't do "anything wrong" that kept me from getting the job, it's that the decision was made to give to another co-worker.
Just a part of the business, just as being let go for no reason is also a part of it. In radio, much like professional sports, personnel decisions can be made through no fault of the employee.
