You ever have one of those moments in your life where, after, you wonder if some force in nature was compelling you? I did :
Christmas morning I called my parents to wish them a happy christmas. My dad has had declining health over the last year. After talking to my mom, I decided I really wanted to see them. I changed my mind about ten times. But, finally decided I should go. So, I threw some things together, jumped in my car and drove to Arizona. My parents were surprised and excited to see me. That made it all worth it.
The next morning I checked my cell phone and I had 4 messages. I hardly ever get messages. I assumed there were from people wishing me a merry christmas. But, I checked the numbers and all three were from my apartment manager. I called him back and found out there had been a fire in our building. Most of my apartment was damaged. It had happened early in the morning of the 26th. I talked to one of my freinds who also lives in the building. She said my whole livingroom had been destroyed. Had I been home I could have been trapped inside.
So, for now anyway, I am kind of homeless. I think I am going to stay in Arizona for a bit and help my mom take care of my dad. I talked with my boss and he thinks it will be easy for them to find me a short term job here if I want to stay for a while.
The only down side is the only internet access I have is dial up ! If I decide to stay I will have to fix that right away
