I just booked a trip to Tokyo for my birthday. I intend to have my birthday steak high atop the best hotel in Tokyo. If I'm going to go, I'm going to go big.
Yesterday morning, my new job had a major launch of the site redesign. To celebrate, we were going to have waffles (made in a professional-style flippy wafflemaker, no less) and sausage, but someone brought some donuts from Top Pot, so we had donuts and sausage. And mimosas. I had a buzz on at 8:30 in the morning. At work. On my fourth day.
Then we had pizza brought in for lunch. Upon seeing the spinach pizza, the CEO exclaimed, "Is that weed?!" To which I had to reply, "We're going to break out the pizza bong soon."
We had more mimosas in the afternoon, and I had a peanut butter and bacon burger for dinner with good friend. I have to say that I've missed startups.
It was a good day in this life less ordinary.
