Yesterday looked like it was going to be pretty rough, but somehow I scraped through. I got my new iPod case in the mail. It's made from a kimono obi by a little company in Australia. Globalization has its upsides too, I figure.
The latest round of phone screens with Hot Startup Company went very well, and I'm supposed to come in to speak with their VP of Product Development. It's a really sweet opportunity for growth and resume checkmark engineering. I had to postpone the interview for the following news, though.
At the same time, I find myself dead-center in the path of getting my current company ready to handle the SMS voting traffic generated by one of the most popular contest shows on the planet. The last sentence can be read as, "null has been on call 24x7 since three Friday afternoon."
After a simple dinner of chicken and green bean stir fry, I collapsed at 7:45 last night and didn't get back up until 4:45 this morning.
Question: if you had new office at a hip company in a pretty modern downtown, how would you decorate it? I'm thinking Japanese reprints of posters from Connery Bond movies, a Swiss rail clock, a model of my car, and a bowl of green apples.
