Check this out, I have had more alcohol this week than the whole year since jan. I know now why I haven't been drinking, it sucks. When you go out to a bar though, you feel obligated to drink something... ah well, just one more night. I'm taking my cousin out for his 24th birthday party (we're the same age, I'm 3 monthes older), so one more night of having a few drinks will do it. And it's not like I'm getting so damn drunk I can't stand, I only had 4 beers last night and I got sick to my stomach and a slight headache, but come on, 4 beers wasn't even enough to get me started in high school.
Last night I hit the strip club with some guys from work. What a night... I remember why I stopped going to those places. I still don't quite understand the concept. If it was about making money, there would be more organization. The women just wander aimlessly through the crowd randomly stopping and talking to one guy for 20 mins. The only constant I noticed was all the women dancing on stage for $1. What is $1 gonna get you nowadays? The girls seemed out of it, like they didn't even want to be there. Why make it that apparent? It's almost like the girls were trying NOT to have to give lap dances. I thought that was the whole point of a strip club, I may be missing something. Anyway, other than having a few drinks and pondering my reason for being there, I had an uneventful night. I still don't understand NY strip clubs, there's probably a lot of cash flow going on in the backround which is why the women don't want the petty lap dance money. I have been to strip clubs in FL where the police do raids frequently and they can't have anything go on behind closed doors and the women actually have to work for that money. And no, I don't hang out at strip clubs. The strip club I went to in FL was the one my uncle worked at. The whole idea opens up social realms of thought for me, but they don't really interest me that much on a personal level.
It's not that the women aren't beautiful; What I can't get past is the fact that the women DO NOT want to be there and are only doing it for money. You could make an analogy between strip clubs and the matrix (from the movie). Would you rather live in a dream world inside the matrix never knowing the real world around you after you already know that the real world exists? Could you go back to the matrix after knowing the truth? I would not be able to, and that's where my problem with strip clubs exists.
