So I found a little article that made me laugh. It's about how World of Warcraft, or any online games for that matter, can ruin one's life.

(insert game) ruined my life

Well, I must make a few comments. First off, it is a failure on the part of the government to take action to prevent such action. Online gaming is a form of subjugation, and I don't think the government has a problem. Hell, they probably actively support them. If people are subjugated, you can do things much easier, like send your country to war, raise tax rates, overturn constitutional amendments, etc.
Second, it is just a game. Games are not the ones causing harm, but the people playing the games. If they lack the responsibility or motivation to get done what needs to be done, then it is a failure of society to take appropriate action to stop any harmful affects of gaming. My motto has always been that a person could be doing much more damage than playing a game. Yes, long term gaming has many problems. Health issues are a big one. Carple-tunnel syndrome, obesity/lack of excercise which can lead to a number of serious health issues, heart failure, diabetes, etc. Unfortunately some people cannot maintain a balance of real-life issues with a virtual reality world. I wouldn't blame the games themselves for this problem, but the people behind the games. Hopefully we won't see another crusade against gamers... leave us to our mountain dew and midnight raids.

i play an online game, but i always knew when to stop and do something else. And the games are just a scapegoat for obesity, laziness etc, if there were online games all those unmotivated people would just watch tv all day instead. Active people are active people, lazy asses are lazy asses and they'll find ways to always be lazy asses.

If your life becomes consumed with an online game, chances are it's a much healthier version of something ELSE that would consume your life otherwise... be it television or all-you-can-eat buffets... I won't say drugs.. I love drugs tongue
