Sometimes life is just a little too funny for me to easily believe that it is 100% random

Sitting at the food court in Midway airport this evening eating some horrible Chinese food I cracked open my fortune cookie to receive a 'fortune' that commanded me, 'Be patient, good things come to those who wait.' I am, still, unsure if I find the cookies slightly Zen advice tragic or amusing because to be honest just about the only 'good thing' I would have liked to come to me at that moment was the horribly late inbound flight that was destined to be come my ride to Detroit. Some small part of me wanted to go buy a metric shit-ton more of them just to see if all the fortune cookies in Midway where attempting to instill peaceful feelings in those of us waiting for delayed flights. I am not sure if this desire was born more out of my skewed sense o humor or a strong desire to prove to myself that there is not a higher power out there that is compulsively fucking with me for its' own enjoyment

Mind you it is not as if I am an overly spiritual person but the last two times I have flown my delays and scheduling have been so rife with lunacy that I have come to believe not only in a omniscient deity that controls air traffic but that I have done something to upset it quite deeply. On this recent trip I arrived on time for my flight only to find out it was no delayed to a point where it was leaving well behind the flight that would normally be after it; and the 'later' flight was so full I would not be able to get a confirmed seat on it, I just had to wait and see if I could depart earlier on the later flight. Now, I do understand that air travel is an amazing and wondrous marvel of technology and like all things base d on technology there are bound to be delays; I am not an unreasonable man, I know sometimes things go all wonky with flights.

However, I think that I would find myself with a slightly more well adjusted sense of humor regarding these things had it not been for the fact that a couple of weeks ago when I flew out to Orange County my flight arrived on the arrival gate about 3 minutes after the flight scheduled to depart Chicago 2 hours after my own did; I am pretty sure I used up all of my humor on that one when while listening to ground traffic control I heard them send the later flight to a gate ahead of us.

Of course I am not sure I should really complain all that much, I am getting paid to sit here and write for my own enjoyment and watch young women walk past the gate Life could be worse right?

Nah, nobody even pays attention to those hosers anymore. I'd have to dress up as Grand Wizard of the KKK to raise any eyebrows on State Street. But the fireworks thing has warmed to me; specifically your idea of throwing firecrackers at unsuspecting drudges. Low level terrorism like that is an intriguing avenue...

OK, this morning I'm going to the airport chock full of pessimism! hahaha. I'm glad I don;t travel for a living or anything.

The carb is a vacuum secondary holley 570. Pretty conservative compared to the rest of the build. When I come across a cheap used 650-700 I'll pick it up & see what it'll gain me in power and lose me in mileage. I'm sticking with vacuum carb since it's an auto trans. I haven't messed with secondary springs either, that's probably the first thing I should do. I just want be sure that at 3/4 to full throttle they're not closing on the shifts' rpm drops. Below 3/4 throttle I want the best mileage.
