I've been working in a "Sleep Lab" as a sleep technician for a little over 4 years. As a sleep tech I help to diagnose and treat sleep disorders by running all night examinations of EEG, EMG, EKG, and EOG along with monitoring respiratory patterns. I also find the proper settings for whats known as a CPAP machine, for people who have sleep apnea and need treatment for it. There are different levels of sleep techs, PSGT<CPSGT<RPSGT, RPSGT being the highest level. In order to even take the RPSGT exam you have to work in the field for 2 years and go through certain courses. I took my test in March and waited a grueling 3 months to get my results.
