14 Days till my birthday (I usually skip this one)
After the many shows I've attended recently, the hunger has returned. I want to play again. Many years ago, a young ultra blonde haired kid was a member of the band geek mafia. Playing trumpet for three or so years was great. Only quiting in high school due to having no want or need to be in the marching band. Plus memorizing has never been a strong suit of mine and I hate school sports (except for a brief stint on the wrestling team for no other reason of boredom...never liked it at all). Here now, a slightly darker haired adult, I want to play again, but something different. Was thinking bagpipes for awhile, now really leaning toward mandoline (thanks to seeing Flogging Molly, the Tossers and Dropkick Murphys recently). For some reason I see myself on Orange Ave/Church St. playing for change. Just something in my head, the rubik's cube that it is
. Actually found a moderatly priced one by Fender. Do not want to use Ebay for this, that tends to be a crap shoot sometimes.
On my ADD fueled D.I.Y. front, the completion of my Celtic punk vest is almost done finally. Unfortunatly breaking down and buying a black slim fit denim vest. Tried doing the scounging of thrift stores and the like. Denim is not really needed here....at all. Florida lacks intermediate cold weather, by the time its cold, you need something thicker. Anyway....I have gotten patches from DKM,Flogging Molly, Street Dogs, The Pouges, Real McKenzies, Dirty Irish Boys and a Bobby Sands poem patch. Also have a huge piece of St. Patrick's tarten for the back and collar. I am D.I.Y.ing two patches from an back patch not being used. One will have 26+6=1 and the other a scroll with Sick Bhoy for the back of the vest.
The Girl will be leaving for Vegas on Thurday. Going to miss her greatly. She is even sexier now with the lip piercings.
Some good Cd releases coming up. Anti-Flag, NOFX, Scotch Greens and many other are going to be coming out soon. Along with my favorite Mel Brooks film Robin Hood: Men in Tights will come out next month on the 4th.

And also: thank you for mentioning Men in Tights! I never know when stuff is coming out, and that only leads to time wasted not having them in my collection. Now I can be one of the first in line to get a copy! Yay!!
