its about freakin time i updated my shit. i've been without consistent internerd for about a month at least. i think i blew the ethernet card on my compoopy. shit. i was hoping that santa would bring me a fancy new lappy for christmas but no such luck.
whats up? merry christmas, happy kwanzaa, hannakuh, chrismakuh whatev. happy new year. i hope it was a good one for you. i know this time of year can be either really awesome or really shitty for some people. xo
new things:
i bought a nikon d70s slr before i went to california. its my new baby. So this time im not lying when I say that I really do have a pictorial update for y'all. That night that I bought my new cam I went to see my friend from high schools band play at a bar downtown. I was there by myself so OBVIOUSLY I was drinking and took some pics of the bands which ended up being a bad idea. Severe intoxication + learning to use new fancyschmancy camera = blurrrrrry ass pictures. Oh well. At least I had a good time. I returned home at about 130am to my roommates eating delicious schwarma (me = starving) and an unpacked backpack. We were leaving for the airport at 430am. So of course being the supreme procrastination queen that I am, I ate the delicious schwarma and passed out. 4am rolls around (much too quickly I might add) and I was rudely awakened by my ex telling me to get the fuck up and pack. Ya I was still drunk when I got to the airport. So we flew to LA and went out that night with some random boys from the UK. Hit the rainbow room and saw some crazy chicky rock band perform at the cat room. I dont think Ive ever seen so many fake boobies or mini dogs in purses as I did in LA. Hot damn. The next day we did this tour all through LA that the hostel we were staying at put on. Saw everything I needed to see and went to COMPTON. Whats up NWA. Straight outta CPT. That night we went to the comedy store and saw some FUNNY ASS comedians. I probably laughed for 4 hours straight. Except when Pauly Shore showed up and did a set. What a trainwreck coked out of his eyeballs, super bombed and all he did was talk about how much of a has been he was. There was lots of awkward laughter and hoping he would get off the stage. Later that night the UK boys, Em and I went to this bar that had a mechanical bull. Man, Ive never seen so many porno faces in my life. So much fun though.
day 3. we picked up our rental car and went out for breakfast looking for our standard 2 eggs, bacon, homefries, brown toast. Our smallest breakfast options were: 3 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, 3 sausages, 2 pieces of ham, hashbrowns, a pancake and toast. Its no wonder a lot of Americans have an obesity problem. ANYWAY we strolled along Venice beach for a few hours checkin out all the freaks and geeks. What an awesome place to people watch. After deciding that well probably move there, the emster and I drove up to Santa Barbara to stay with her cousin and her husband. Beautiful city, beautiful houses and a beautiful adobe church that I took piccys at. From Santa Barbara we drove up to Monteray to visit some more family of ems. Went out for a delicious (and FREE!) crab dinner, hit cannery row and visited the aquarium. I was like a kid in a candy store there with my camera. They had a jellyfish exhibit which I think are absolutely beautiful. 200 pictures later we left and headed for San Fran on the Highway 1.
San Fran was lots of fun as well. Our hostel was in the crossroads of the porno district/Chinatown/little Italy. We randomly met some awesome aussie guys over a jeff buckley comment and partied over $5 pitchers. scored a free lunch the next day from em's aunt and hit union square. last full night in town was spent with more aussies (perth=perv) who love their karoke. probably the funniest night ever. drunkest night of the whole week. hungoverest next morning.
took the ferry to alcatraz which was beautiful (and i forgot my camera of course) and flew back to toronto that night.
ask me how depressed i was coming back to snow.
christmas was good.. i was home for 6 days. saw my long lost sister. made the trek down to see the loverly
Chanel.
had a grrrreat time.
anyway... back at home now. learning how to snowboard and waiting for the canal to freeze. eating vegan cake and watching team canada. starting orientation for ICU on jan 16th. sweet.
back to real life.
