Foaming At The Mouth
It Was A Very Good Month
Regular readers of my writing and casual friends alike will know that I'm a sucker for old black-and-white movies, screwball comedies and mysteries in particular. This month, my dear, dear friends at TCM gave me an early Christmas present. Here's a rundown of what they were broadcasting weekday mornings and early afternoons for most of the month:
Monday, 11/5: The 'Whistler' series (6 movies)
Wednesday, 11/7: The 'Crime Doctor' series (7 movies)
Thursday, 11/8: Philo Vance (6 movies)
Monday, 11/12: Dick Tracy (4 movies) & The 'Saint' series (7 movies)
Wednesday, 11/14: The 'Lone Wolf' series (7 movies)
Thursday, 11/15: Dead End Kids/East Side Kids (11 movies)
Friday, 11/16: Sherlock Holmes (4 movies) and The 'Thin Man' series (5 movies)
Monday, 11/19: The 'Falcon' series (11 movies)
Tuesday, 11/20: Fibber McGee & Molly/Great Gildersleeve (7 movies)
Wednesday, 11/21: Lupe Velez/'Mexican Spitfire' series (10 movies)
Monday, 11/26: Maisie (9 movies)
Tuesday, 11/27: Perry Mason (6 movies)
Wednesday, 11/28: Dr. Kildare (9 movies)
Friday, 11/30: The 'Boston Blackie' series (6 movies)
I'm well aware that virtually none of you care about 'B' movies of the 30s and 40s the way I do. And it will be nice to not have to fight the daily temptation to just lie in bed with a couple of cocktails and lose myself in black-and-white dreams. Some days were better than others, even among those I listed. But when you have a good run of it you just have to sit back and realize, I shall not see such good fortune for a long time to come. November was good to me.

You're right. But I'll bet you 20 bucks that I won't be any further along next week. See, I'm just thinking ahead here.
