My dream post surreal:

I had this one dream I'll never forget. I had it when I was a 'tot.' And it kinda fits with the things that have always fascinated me - Exploration and undersea life.

I wake up in my bedroom to find that I'm completely underwater. My sheets have spread and drifted to the ceiling. My pillow is floating over my head. The room is bathed in aquatic blue and there are sunlight shimmers all over my walls.

There are sea horses softly floating around. There are small crabs scuttling across my carpet. And there are tiny colorful fish everywhere.

Naturally, I have to explore. So I swim out into the hall, where there are larger fish. (As if my dream is some kind of Suessian size chart) And then I swim down the stairs to the living room where I find a beautifully spotted whale shark, a large octopus spewing ink and a swordfish swimming swift circles around the room.

I'm thrilled at that moment in the dream. Because I know that the basement has to have some wicked wonderful things going on.

So I swim down through the dark blue entrance of the basement door. And the whole basement, I find, is filled to capacity with the most brilliant, oddly shaped, bio-luminescent fish. And they are undulating in a big colorful mass. I swim around them, examining and touching them and, I guess, playing with them.

And the dream ends where I swim into the laundry room and find a small yellow submarine. (My parents raised me on the Beatles.) And I swim to it, open the latch, and noodle my way inside. As soon as I do that. I'm awake.

Now, does a dream in liquid mean that I want to go back to the womb? Or what? Or was it just because I've always been fascinated by the ocean?

I need a dream interpretation book, stat!
