You sometimes dwell on the past more than you ought to and today brings a fresh wave of memories you thought you had subdued. You may as well wallow, as long as you promise yourself to quit soon.

That was my horoscope for today...which I think fits perfectly considering I had calling hours. I was fine all day until I was on my way there. It was open casket, but he looked good...as much like himself as possible...drum sticks in hand only thing missing was his smile and dimples. I coped pretty well, holding back as many tears as I could but tomorrow is going to be rough. I'm sad for myself and his friends, but I am praying everyday for his family to get through this tragedy. Please think of Cody Jannie's family and friends tomorrow as we lay him to rest.

I also wanted to say goodbye, I never got that with him...so I sent a text to his phone telling him how much he is loved and missed and how he has touched so many lives and his was taken to short. I hope he meets his dad where he is going and looks down on us and see how much he meant to all of us.
