Good luck with the Guard, I wanted to join the Army / Navy, I had a couple jobs picked out, went through everything, was set to go but a medical condition in my eyes kept me out, really through me off for awhile since it was what I felt I should be doing.
Anywho, point is if its important to you, ppl should understand

National Guard eh? I came close to signing up for the Navy around 2002, but didn't. I'd just say look beyond what your recruiter tells you, it's pretty much their job to oversell the benefits. Talk to people who've served there (or at least find things they say online) and think specifically about what you want from the experience and how it fits in with practical things like raising your son.
Today is a pretty great day! Why? No reason, I'm just in a great mood. One of my teacher's asked if I was high and that's why I was so happy. I told him I wish he just laughed.
