My girl came over last night. We had about a three hour discussion about all the things I was ranting about in my last entry on here. We talked everything out. Things are better now. We're staying together.

Wow.. i just went back and read your last enty.. one of the few i've missed. So were you just in a really bad mood.. cause you seemed pretty sure that this was not a good thing to be doing just a little while ago? I guess a good chat can cure alot of things.. I hope everything turns out good for you.

By the way I didn't wear my shirt today cause it was to frickin cold to not wear a sweetshirt and well since its such a cool shirt I can't possibly wear it covered up.

Good luck on the testing, let me know what happens...i hope you're okay. This is no comfort, but out of all the STDs out there, HPV is usually one of the least harmless, at least for men. For women it can be very scary because it gives you a risk for cervical cancer. But you can have HPV and never have a single wart for your entire life, and while you always have it, it's very treatable.

But here's hoping you don't have it at all.

And get away from her. She sounds WAY too needy. It's probably better for her that she doesn't attach to someone.

Even before the last bit, definitely get out of there. I dated a similar girl once and it was a huge, huge mistake. We had an argument because she asked me, a few weeks after we began dating, if I would drink champagne at the toast for our wedding, should we ever get married. Now, I don't drink at all--and when I tried champagne in my younger and more vulnerable years I didn't like it to begin with--and I told her no. There were tears involved because I was ruining the wedding she'd had her heart set on since she was a little girl . . .
That's not even taking into account the "why are we even talking about marriage to begin with" part of the conversation.

So. I'm pulling for you, dude.

I'd love to go to grad school, but I won't be able to afford it because of how the student loan program works here... after X number of years you can't get any more government loans until you've started to pay off your old ones. Also I'm gonna be upwards of $50k in debt with my BA, so accumulating even more debt is probably unwise anyway...

I've heard UBC has really high standards for admissions, but it's a great school in a great city, if a bit expensive.

i'm getting my degree in english, writing my thesis on ulysses. joyce = real fucking hard to write an undergrad. thesis on.

i own pale fire, but haven't had time to read it yet. this summer...

you're philosophy, i take it, or am i wrong?

definitely not MUCH specific plot, but the book's full of stuff. it's really amazing once you quit trying to understand. that's what my thesis is about - how anyone can read ulysses if they don't try to do it like they'd read a normal book. normal books, you can assume you'll get most of it. ulysses, you're GOING to miss almost all of it. if you can just be ok with that instead of overly frustrated, it's a much more fun read. i think, anyway.
