First of all, let me say that P.G. Wodehouse is a very underrated author. I started reading The Mating Season tonight. It's one of the Jeeves and Wooster novels. Damn is it good so far. I love Wodehouse so much.

I read Being There by Jerzy Kosinski today. I think I liked the movie more, but hey, it's got Peter Sellers in it, what's not to love?

I started reading Death of Virgil by Hermann Bloch....I got about 80 pages in and realized I didn't want to read another paragraph....especially since he seems to have a knack for making paragraphs two or three pages long. It is a very slow and repetitive novel, so I don't think I will be finishing it.

I worked for about an hour today. It was supposed to be a day off for me, but someone couldn't work so I picked up the shift and then didn't really feel like being there and I was given a chance to go home quite early and I jumped at it.

I listened to the Reds game....we were up 9-3 going into the ninth inning. We lost. Seven run ninth innings make me sad.

Tomorrow I am going over to talk to the advisor in the English department to see how many credits I would have to take in order to get BA in English. I'm guessing fifteen, but it could be less (sadly, it could also be a couple more, it all depends on what they will count from what I have already taken.). I have to work 4-9 or something tomorrow. It should be another early night. I may even be able to make it out to coffee with the SGKalamazoo Krew.

Oh, and I'm thinking the little NA just means 'Not Available' because he's still in Scranton?

He broke Luzinski's recoed for homers (the existing Eastern League record) at Reading last year by mid-July before being called to AAA Scranton and eventually called to the bigs as a September call up.

So, yeah. It looks like he's got what it takes.
In a sick and twisted way, I'd like to see him get a shot.
