So, sorcha and I went to see the new version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre tonight. Holy shit did it suck. I fucking love the original. It is easily in my top ten horror movies and maybe, just maybe, top five. It's a fucking classic. This one, however, was horrid. I won't even get into my long list of why I hate it because I don't want to "ruin" it for anyone who has not seen it. However, you should save your money and just rent the original instead.
It gets me thinking though....which of my favorite movies will they ruin next? They killed Planet of the Apes, Rear Window, Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre....hell the remake of 12 Angry Men was terrible too! It pains me to think that someday someone will come along and think that they can do Casablanca or Breakfast at Tiffany's or Clockwork Orange better.

(B) I heard it was good, but yeah, I'm upset that they have to go and try to redo a good thing. If it's not broken, don't fix it.
(C) Did you hear they're making a Garfield movie, and in it, Jon is devonairre and slick? Wha' the hell?!
(D) Breakfast at Tiffany's and Clockwork Orange likewise rock my socks. I have yet to see Casablanca.
(E) Did you see Kill Bill yet? I liked the homeage to Hong Kong cinema.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, and yes I'm old ...
I wish I still had ESPN Classic ... fucking Comcast ...
Dykstra now owns an upscale car wash in Southern California ... appropriately named "The Lenny Dykstra Car Wash" in Simi Valley, I believe. I dunno either ... I guess it's doing well for him.
I have a '93 Series ball signed by "The Dude". He had one of the best years ever for a leadoff man in '93 ... leading the league in both hits AND walks??? No one will ever do that again.
Lenny Dykstra is the personification of a "ballplayer".
GO MARLINS!!!
