So, if I am so fucking exhausted, WHY THE FUCK CAN'T I FUCKING FALL A-FUCKING-SLEEP? I went to bed shortly after 11 because I was a tired lame-o who has no life. I had just finished watching True Romance and I had tried calling my Mom to wish her a happy birthday, but she was probably out town-painting. So I went to bed, that was almost three hours ago, and here I sit, still not asleep.
I was walking across campus today on my way to my film class and I had an insanely strong desire to drink gin. I'm finally satiating that desire....maybe that will help me sleep.
I finished reading Aristotle's Politics tonight. I was frightened at one point. He talks about Tyranny and how to maintain it and it sounds a whole fuck of a lot like Bush's current term of office.
You know why I really love Aristotle though.....no one stumps me like he stumps me. He's about the only author I read that will use a word that just baffles me and leaves me clueless. The last time was "homoeomorous", try loking that one up in a dictionary...yeah, not fucking in there. I had to see which Greek word was translated as that and then break it into its parts and looks those up individually in a Greek dictionary when I don't know the Greek alphabet, fun times indeed. Today's word was "suzerainty", at least that one is in my dictionary.
Tomorrow I start reading Henri Bergson again (and when you say that name, it must be said with an outrageous French accent). I am going to make my way through his complete works, I have read most of them before, but they deserve a reread. I will start on Time and Free Will tomorrow....you know, rather than actually looking at the textbook for the midterm I have on Thursday.
Ok....time to try sleeping again.
