Good luck with the post office. The last couple of times I have gone, it has been surprisingly sedate. If you wait until the day before xmas, it should be empty. Your presents won't get there on time, but you can always say they were lost int he mail

A woman almost beat me up at a post office once because she thought that I had illegally parked my car in a red zone, and was mad that I thought that I could park anywhere I wanted to because I felt like it while she had to fight for a real parking spot.

It wasn't my car, and I had never seen her before in my life - in fact, I had entered the post office 4 people behind her in line.
