There’s so much shit that I’m into. Writing, music, design, art, coding. None of it’s simple, though I suppose there isn’t anything that is. Once you dive deeply into some thing, you come to understand the nuance of that thing, and you never look at that thing the same way again.

I was in a band right out of high school. We were a three...

I work in crypto. One thing that gets thrown around a lot is this idea of onboarding a billion people to crypto. There’s a lot happening “on-chain”—communities, platforms, applications—that is available for innumerable people to participate in. And much of this is already changing commerce as we know it. The collapse of centralized exchanges aside, more brands are coming aboard and finding innovative ways to...

I can always find plenty of excuses not to write. Or draw. Or record. Or research. Etc., etc, ad nauseam. There are a million things I enjoy doing, but ultimately, it comes down to a matter of momentum/inertia with regard to whether or not I dive into those things.

My activity, whether it’s work or play, can pretty much be summed up by Newton’s first...

What is art?

With nearly eight billion people on this planet, this question has the potential for nearly eight billion answers. There’s sure to be much overlap, but the main idea is that we each have particular ways of defining beauty and expression.

Beauty, after all, is in the eye of the beholder.

This, however, does not answer the question directly. What is art?

It’s...

This prayer is for me tonight
This far down that line and still ain't got it right
And while confessions not yet stated
Our next sin is contemplated

—Fuel, Innocent

You create your own reality.

That reality is shaped by how you want to feel. Not how you think you want to feel, but rather the emotions you exude in your fantasies borne out of...

There’s a particular situation that arose on Thanksgiving that is living rent free in my brain. And more than just being non-beneficial, it’s costing me my peace. However, it’s not something I want to write about publicly.

I thought about doing so for a moment though. Even started a draft in my notes app. Then thought better of it.

I’m still processing it, and while...

Shit. I unlocked the “secret” ending in Cyberpunk 2077, and I have opinions.

Warning: spoilers ahead.

I’ve explored other endings prior to this. The first time I went through the ending, I went the route of Johnny and Rogue storming Arasaka Tower. It was a solid ending, but damn, Smasher kills Rogue?!

What a bastard.

I didn’t like that, so I ran through the ending...

Incel leadership is apparently making strides in redefining heterosexuality. According to the daily dot, incel celebrity Nick Fuentes recently went on a rant defending his status as an involuntary celibate, saying,

“gay people do date girls all the time … All these gay people are coming out and saying, ‘I’ve had more girlfriends than Nick. I’ve had sex with more girls than Nick …...

The Twitter Saga continues.

The whole blue checkmark fiasco must still be adversely affecting the platform. I logged on today and saw this:

This is so fucking hilarious. The Twitter Blue check mark feature was such an absolute failure that they had to come up with another way to help users identify legitimate business and brand accounts. “Pay $8,” he said. “It’ll be fine,” he

One of my favorite shows ever had the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on the bill. It was at Coachella one year, and Tool was headlining that night. I love me some Tool, but their stage presence does nothing to excite me. What excited me about this night was a live performance by Massive Attack, who would play just before Tool. They would perform with a full...

Pre-Covid I went to 3-4 shows a month (I’m in my 50’s so no more pit for me) but find it exhausting now, 2-3 hours travel, parking, peopling yeesh.  That said, I still love a good show & I’m easing back into them.  My favorite bands are always great live performers, if not I quickly tire of them. Enjoy!
nonsensetwice:
@skisby I’m in my 40s and going out is a whole thing, so I feel that. I’m way more selective about the shows I go to now, but likewise, I still love a good show.

It’s been a fun past couple of days surrounding the holiday, but at some point, things gotta resettle. And I need to get back to my writing.

I almost didn’t write tonight. The past few days have been a wild mix of booze and other illicit substances, shared with close friends across late nights, a hot tub, and a fire. Being present meant it was...

I’m fascinated by the occult.

I don’t mean the toxic positivity dressed up as new age pseudo-witchy love and light bullshit that gets thrown around. I mean the old school systems of spiritual study that have unlocked much of the symbolism prevalent in ancient mythology. I mean the tables of attribution that delineate connections between the various myths across different cultures. I mean angelology and...
