Plot Twist About Returning To Work

Well, I was having a great day on Tuesday. Felt pretty good about myself and then my Team Leader at work called and told me somebody else on the team had caught the virus and had to be put into quarantine along with three other employees. He was one of them. The person who caught it, probably didn't get it from the store, rather it was somebody they lived with. He wanted to call and tell me because he knows I talk these things over with my therapist and my family (I help take care of my mother who has MS). I mean, I was feeling really good about returning. I got it in my mind that it was going to be fine and then I got this call. Luckily, I had a therapist appointment over the phone that night and I talked it over with her. She told me it should be fine, but if my anxiety started bothering me, then consider going on another leave. They already have accommodations for me because of letters she wrote on my behalf.

So, I called the Assistant Team Leader, who is now leading the team, on Wednesday, to discuss this with her. She told me once this happened they brought in a clean team at night to deep clean and sanitize everything, even more thoroughly than we do. (Trust me, we take a lot of precautions.) So, with that knowledge, and also knowing that the person who got it, didn't probably get it from the the store, I've decided to stay the course and return on June 1 (this coming Monday.)

I'm sure everything will be fine. But, if any of you have any positive vibes or thoughts you could send my way, that would be appreciated. I'll know, what I'll need to do after the first couple of days, after that it should be ok, I'm hoping. Fingers crossed.

So, I'm still returning to work on Monday. Everybody take care. I'll do my best. I hope you do, too.

I can imagine your feeling, I'm dealing with anxiety and use to freak out when some of the supermarkets where I go needs to stay closed to sanitize because somebody sick on the staff. But keep in your mind that if you aren't close to people and everybody is using masks correctly and washing hands, I think is almost impossible to you become sick. Take care and I wish my best to you and your mother.

@felicity Thank You. I can totally understand about the anxiety part. I just got back from grocery shopping. People weren't following the rules. But it was at a different store than where work. With work, I'm just going to try take a more positive attitude. We take a lot of precautions, more than other stores. You take care, too. I wish the best for you, also. Stay safe and sane, friend.
