A Bit Of A Bad Day

So, today I called in work to do my bi-weekly check in, (During this pandemic, I was offered the option to stay home if I didn't feel safe working in the store. I work in a Whole Foods. I wouldn't get paid, but I can use my PTO to get paid. At the beginning of this I had over 330 hours of PTO, now I'm down around 100.) which I'm supposed to do and I was told somebody in the department where I work contracted the virus. I haven't been there, so I'm ok, but I was planning to return to work in a couple of weeks around the time our state reopens on May 20. Now, I'm going to have to push that back, just to be safe. In a way, I was looking forward to returning back to work, but now I can't chance it. Even my team leader, told me to push that back for now. That's probably the smart move, but I honestly thought we were getting towards the end of this and looks like this isn't the case. I live with other people, some who are more at risk, so it would be best if I stayed home, because I don't want to get other people sick either.

So, I'm feeling a bit down tonight. Money wise, I'll be alright. I got one of those stimulus checks the government is handing out, so money will be ok hopefully until I can return to work at a later date, but it just feels like a bummer, because I was looking forward to things getting back to normal. Doesn't look like that's the case.

Anyway, I hope everybody out here had a better day. And you're all doing your best to stay safe and sane. Take care of yourselves and each other.
