if you could cheer me up i could learn to love you....
yay, johnny trump's visit was wonderful
we watched
oh brother where art thou
the royal tenenbaums
and she lent me donnie and ghostworld
we talked a lot
she's worried about me and i'm worried about her
so in trying to stop eachother from worrying we made ourselves feel better
you know when you take a look at stuff
and you have to put a positive slant on it for someone else
and suddenly things look a lot better
johnny trump does it again
however, she did bring over the new rancid album that i'd been studiously avoiding in fear that it would turn out somewhere between the transplants and good charlotte due to the "nu-punk" thing
it sucks
like, reeeeally badly
apart from the fact that it is heavily recycled from old songs (ok, yes, rancid does have a distinct style, but, until now, it didn't sound like it was trying too hard...it's at the point where you can sing old songs along to the "new" ones) the lyrics have turned....well, bad, for want of another word
i feel awful saying it but
tim's lost it
SHOCK
coz i've been in love with him since he was lint for goodness sake
but his drawl just doesn't work now he's so old
and the rapping
nooooooooooo
anyway i have to not think about it coz i might actually cry
it's that bad that i might not go to the show i have tickets for next week
other bad news
i can't get those damn bluegrass hooks out of my head
man of constant sorrow always becomes my official favourite song ever after i watch oh, brother...
and frankly
this scares me
i've been listening to a lot of patsy lately too
i love music, but my eclectic taste often earns me nothing but ridicule
i'm sick of people who can't appreciate other genres of music than the one they have decided is their style
"oh dear, i dress in black and wear chains, i could never listen to ska"
(no offense to people who wear black and chains, just an example, i could have just as easily said "oh lordy no i can't listen to jeff buckley, for i am punk. oi")
good music is good music, don't be a snob
right now i'm listening to erykah badu
before that it was the descendents (hence earlier quote)
and later i just might indulge in a bit of F-minus and the CRACK ROCK STEADY 7
and Bikini Kill before work coz it gets me in the mood to go and bust the balls of the guys who stare directly at my chest while ordering their drinks or when i'm pouring their pint
i know they're gorgeous, but it just ain't polite fellas
specially if you are a hideous (i HATE to use this word but i can't think of any other way to describe the majority of customers at my bar) "townie"
all i have is stale baccy and i'm dying for a ciggie
bleh
oh, fuckin sr is now totally ignoring me
ok, i have violent mood swings, but really he's just being childish
wow, i have to get out of bed, i'm actually going to work tonight........
