I made macaron's in August. Yeah, it's been that long since an update. In any case, I vowed to master the art of macaron making as soon as I got home from France. Well, it was actually a lot easier than I had expected. I'm not sure what the big deal is. Granted, I in no way think I've mastered it, but also don't think I did so bad for my 2nd try. The first try came out ok as well, little feet and all, but I made them too big.

These are Maple Pecan w/ Maple Italian Meringue Buttercream. They're dusted with a touch of maple sugar. They were, of course, an early celebration of Autumn. I love Autumn.




PS: Macarons are not to be confused with Macaroons, those icky flavorless rocks of coconut. Macarons are light little jewels of joy, made with almond flour and meringue. Sickenly sweet, but you just can't stop eating them. I can't any way.

In other news...

I'm working on my Halloween costumes. So far I think I'm going to be a Ninja, a cupcake, and *possibly* Miss Argentina from Beetlejuice.

Syd is good. A lot less hiding, and a lot more playing. A big relief for me. I was a little worried he be one of those skittish dogs. He's still a bit, but with his past I don't blame him.

Now I'm off. Going to clean. Woot.
