Okay, I've been away from here for ages, for assorted reasons, but now I'm back and I have something to pimp.
There's an online auction going on at the moment called Art that Scares You, to help get some cash together for a well-regarded local horror writer who's having a bit of a tough time at the moment. A lot of people have clubbed together to donate a lot of cool stuff, stuff that I think the people I know on here will like, and I'm kicking myself for not thinking of mentioning it here before now.
Examples include handmade jewellery, artwork and wall hangings, dolls and puppets, a painting by Aussie fantasy artist Shaun Tan (winner of two World Fantasy Awards and a shitload of others), and a lot of books, chapbooks and fiction magazines, many signed by their authors specifically for this auction, many quite hard to get through normal channels these days.
We're down to the last couple of days of bidding (see "kicking self", above) so check it out.
