So this past weekend was amazing. I am wondering if the two hours I spent on the beach were not the best two hours of my life. Hmm, nothing else I can think of in my memory banks really stands out..
This is me. Giggling, laughing, running up and down the beach. Chasing waves as they come up to me, plunging my hands into the water for a brief second before it is pulled back away from me, following it toward the sea and then running away again. Climbing up the cliffs that lined the beach. Getting stuck on the big rock and screaming as a wave came in and splashed up the back side of it. Drawing and making creatures with sand. Playing jump rope with long trails of seawead. Picking up the random shell that will be added to the collection of tokens and memories from different places and people that I store around my room. Laughing. Laughing and jumping on him and falling into a heap on the sand. Laughing. Ah, if you could have seen the joy in my eyes, you would know how much I love the ocean.
The camping itself was great, too. Meadow, fire, wine, good company. I think I need to learn how to backpack. And that requires the purchase of, well, a backpack, plus a new sleeping bag and light-weight tent. Damn, I think this is going to be an amazing spring/summer/fall. Yeah, I'm definitely going to learn how to backpack. Hiking and camping. What could be better?
Wow, I don't know what else to say about the weekend except that it was really really great. Brought down an apple crisp (the pyrex for him to keep) as a house-warming gift. Tetris attack (he finally beat me; blame it on the fatigue). Sunshine. Berkeley.
Berkeley. It is too far away from me. I guess it could be worse, at least he didn't move to SF. And whenever I am driving, I am driving the opposite direction of the majority (into the city on friday, out on sunday/monday), which otherwise would absolutely kill me. Driving in the constant back-up which is weekend traffic in the Bay.
That's it for now! Wow, it's already tuesday. Thanks to Cesar Chavez and the lovely state of California, I have friday off. Yay!!
