Hey I'm new here and still trying to familiarise myself with the site. I would appreciate any guidance that could be thrown my way. I want to post some photos (just for fun not ready to become a hopeful just yet), write some blog posts and generally engage with the SG community and make friends but I'm not sure where to start.
I'm gonna try and read the FAQs but Andy other info would be really appreciated. Xxx

Hey there, welcome to SG! As @pointman11 said, definitely check out the groups! Feel free to lurk around and read if you're nervous about participating at first, that can help you figure out the group rules and stuff anyway before you start posting! There are lots of threads where you can post pictures (just make sure your pictures are appropriate for the thread you're posting in) and of course you can always post on your own page! If you go to individual's profiles you can also read their blogs and view their photos, and for hopefuls and official SGs you can view their photosets! Writing blogs and commenting on others is a great way for people to get to know you, and for you to get to know others :). I think joining as a member first is a great way to get to know the community before jumping in as a hopeful, if you decide to apply (I was a member for 7 years before I applied to be a hopeful LOL). And also, never be afraid to ask if you have any questions! Most members are super friendly and happy to help, or they are able to direct you to someone who can help.
