I had a real wild dream Tuesday night that is still pretty fresh in my memory despite it being a couple of days old. Figured I’d right about it before the memory blurs as time passes on. Just a foresight I have read a little into string theory and theoretical physics and seen some documentaries and read one particular book. Don’t worry that’ll make more sense soon.
I found myself in a casino, personally they are not really my type of spot because I tend to just get drawn to the craps table and lose money while not drinking nearly enough. Anyway no craps in this dream, I got to this rather large room that is very dimly lit and there is this dice game. I am intrigued mainly because it is a simple game and involves rolling dice, basically depending on what you roll you win or lose money, so I gave it a go. While I am starting to play this game everything is regular and right in the universe but then all of a sudden things start to become a little bizarre.
I start to shake the dice in my hands when I feel that all of a sudden there are more than two. I release them to the game and indeed there now are three but even more strange then that is the fact that they do not bounce in the way that physics would dictate. Instead they bounce sporadically almost as if following their own laws. I pick up two and move aside another and try again, same sort of odd results, sometimes there are three or four dice, never following the rules established by the laws of physics and I realize that I am not the only one in the room experiencing this phenomenon. People have already started to freak out a bit and a group goes and gets casino management to try and have them explained what the fuck is going on. Some staff is there and they are trying to keep people calm meanwhile they are a bit anxious themselves. One older guy in the room states that there is a famous theoretical physicist known for his work on string theory currently at the casino and some staff goes out to seek him.
The rest of us in the room kind of just gather and start streaming our thoughts, trying to make sense of what no longer makes sense and coming up with our own explanations to everything that just occurred with this game. The staff comes back with this physicist and he gives the game a whirl, almost immediately he drops the dice and just burst into a radiant smile despite the fact he was old and pretty sickly looking. He starts to speak rapidly jumping into the most basic teachings of string theory. He is rambling about other dimensions not really discovered by man based off of their scope and parallel universes that have the potential to collide. He tells us that however likely improbable there is the chance (although the odds may be a trillion to one) that unexplainable things could happen very literally like a hand passing through wood without breaking it. It seemed to him that we had somehow gone through some dimensional rift as now things started to take to an even more unexplainable turn of events.
As if out of nowhere we are no longer in this casino, everyone gasps and some people freak out even more, where the hell did we just go this is clearly not where we just were. We had entered like a long hall with tables and the appearances of everyone in the room seemed to look more youthful, more handsome even this professor who before looked so sickly was now full of all this vigor. He starts to cry and tries to explain to us what is going on, he starts speaking that whatever parallel universe we somehow entered that we in our current state are beginning to experience and physically adapt to all the states that we have lived in all of our parallel lives through the infinite amounts of universes that exist. He said that is the only way his health could have gotten better, that in some other infinite amount of lives that he is living he is not nearly as old or sickly as he was in our own universe (this kind of reminded me of A Brave New World how like the old people even though they look young go to get euthanized when they are old). He tells us that the primary reason why our surrounding area changed to something completely new is because in some parallel universe this is what is there and that whatever universe we are in now somehow adapts and contorts to all existing universes.
Not only that but all of sudden there were wisps of memories, not from my life as I remembered it or even from reincarnation or anything like that. These were wisps of memories that I had experienced in my life as it is current but in another universe. As people started to begin to talk to each other (strangers in the group because friends who had known each other previously still continued to know each other as in our common universe) we felt that although we were strangers we knew each other. Some memory, from some life by odds that were no longer a trillion to one would filter in. Then out of nowhere people began to appear, some children some adults (mostly children) and to the most wild imagination these kids or adults were actually the children of people in this room just from other lives. I saw this girl probably around seven and instantly I knew that she must be a daughter of mine who I had when I was pretty young (I am 25) and wilder than that I saw her mom and I knew it must have been her I had this kid with who just manifested out of nothing to this world we lived in because she lived in another world where we had a kid together this now not so strange stranger.
I see this attractive blonde girl and start to talk to her, both of us still some disbelief but trying to understand more deeply the ideas of multi universes and the improbable things going on being much more probable, how this microcosm of humans has had an eternity of stories to tell. As we were speaking this little blonde girl perhaps 3 years old walks up to us calling us mommy and daddy. It was stunning because we knew she was ours and that we had been together in some life but a clear memory of that life still did not exist to us but still we just marveled at it. As we told her that mommy and daddy needed to talk more and to go and play with some of the other children I turn to this blonde girl and boldly say, “so you want to consummate this marriage” even in my dream I didn’t think she’d agree but lo and behold (oh dream world) she did and she grabbed my arm as we passed through a door. On the other side of this door we were like in a warehouse for colorful clothes, just so many shirts, socks, pants of different colors and we continued past this place and entered some gothic looking mansion. We found a room which was unoccupied and just kind of started to go at it a bit. Before long the room sort of disappears and we see two girls hooking up nearby as well. But neither couple decided to interfere, we all knew each other in some multi universal cosmos and we might as well all have started to get used to each other in all ways because we still hadn’t seen any other humans aside from those who sprung from thin air.
As we had sex subtle things about her would change, her hair color went brown and I asked her if that was her natural color which she replied yes to, I would see length of her hair change as well and for me I remember one point being like, oh snap I have a beard. The environment changed again and we were on a beach, we could now see more people from our entire group not too far away and sadly this is sort of where my dream ended thanks to a damned alarm and having to go to work.
It was such a splendid dream and even though I wished it would have continued to go on, while I explored this world where the unimaginable happened in regularity I started to think while laying down in bed awake that thus far we had all only experienced memories and physical forms from universes that might have been deemed more beautiful than ours, or perhaps where medical technology and science were both vastly superior to our universe. I do imagine that if time had gone on in this dream we would have experienced some memories that were harrowing, sad memories of friends or families dying. Unhealthy physical forms perhaps even losing limbs and other assorted body parts due to accidents in some other past of ours. I guess it was alright that the story ended on the beach having sex with some girl who I didn’t know but knew and loved altogether at the same instant.
Anyway, after reading through the Lord of the Rings I might have to do some more reading into theoretical physics and string theory and it is about time since I read another dense piece of literature.
