Something I forgot to post about last time. I checked out Gay Pride parade for the first time this year with my uncle. He had invited me to a party at some marketing agency on 5th ave. free booze and the chance to finally check out the parade. I must say i had a really good time, it was awesome just seeing the whole community out there and the people that support. The party I went to had the Fox 5 morning weather guy there which it was funny seeing him on the news when my grandma was watching it in the morning that week. I had a professor for this class I took in college (Psychosexual Aspects of Human Behavior) that was awesome and he told everyone that you have to check out pride parade at least once in your life cause it really is something beautiful. Anyway, he was totally right it really was a wonderful thing and me getting drunk definitely was a bit sentimental seeing all the same sex couples with their kids and the NYPD and FDNY service members as everyone was smiling and cheering. Only thing that was a little awkward was the guy my uncle likes was very touchy feely with me, which is understandable given the circumstances but dude your hooking up with my uncle lol.

Next year I decided that if I go to the parade I want to wear a black shirt with white lettering that says, "Not really" so I can take a hilarious picture.
Anyway, I am leaving for Cuba this coming Sunday (leaving for Montreal this Saturday), I am excited for the trip which will be a two fold vacation in my opinion. Two fold because the first few days we will be at an all inclusive resort which I am sure will be full of mostly Europeans and I will be boozing and partying all night and day, this will be a sort of standard thing. The other part of the vacation involves going to the city (Santiago) my father and mother were born in (moved in 1971 and 1970 respectively) to meet family and see the sights. Just speaking with mom and other family members who have been to Santiago the city has been painted to me as, "Looks like a war zone" (female adult cousin who visited last year) "After seeing the level of poverty I was so depressed I wouldn't go back" (Cuban family friend who visited a few years back) "When I landed back in the USA I wanted to sing the American National Anthem" (Cuban female cousin who just came to the USA from Cuba less then 10 years ago and recently revisited" "The heat is oppressive and after being out I just wanted to sit in my underwear by the hotel AC" (same cousin from previous quote ). All this says to me is that it will be an experience. I have already mentally prepared myself as much as possible (and hopefully the poverty won't be too much of a shock since I did spend a week in a small city in Costa Rica doing volunteer work once) and I am going to have a good time. I will smoke some fresh Cuban cigars, drink rum, hit on the ladies (or more realistically have them hit on me, I hear they love white guys, Santiago is mostly Afro-Cuban and hardly has any tourism at all). I will dance and meet distant cousins my age, I will sweat and explore and hopefully pick up some Communist mementos (I am pretty anti-Communist but I must say I do enjoy their propaganda). I am just curious how well my mother and my sisters will be able to take it all, I am sure some will handle it better and I know my dad will have a blast because this is where he grew up (father came to USA at 13 my mother was only 6 and thus doesn't remember a lot). Wish me luck and that I don't run my mouth talking about Democracy and freedom and end up in prison as a political prisoner
. Thing I will miss most about being home is my dog Kodi will 100% miss my family but I will see him August 1st.
Finally started doing some form of exercise last week (went jogging/walking 3 days) and continued today. It has been over 6 months since I last worked out and I am really hoping I can stick to some routine, luckily one of my best friends from home has decided he wants to get in shape and I am hoping he can prove to be suitable motivation for me! Need to lose weight ugh some of my work pants won't fit and I sure as hell am not going to buy bigger ones I am just going to have to push myself and hopefully that all works out.
Ugh I want to go to San Diego Comic Con so bad next year! Will any of you all be at NYCC? I already ordered my 3 day pass.
