I love doing new and fun things with friends in the city (NYC). This past Sunday was the 11th annual no pants subway ride, I meet up with my friends Eric and Evan at City Hall Park. The three of us were excited ever since I had suggested they join me on the no pants subway ride sometime in the past 36 hours, we all had our bags to store our pants and were ready to meet with the crowd at the Foley Square starting location. There was definitely a good 800 people plus gathered here, it looked kind of OWS and I laughed a bit when some dude softly shouted, "We are the 99%". Soon our host (a dude who was at the original no pants subway ride in 2002) greeted us and talked about how excited he was on how much this has expanded in the past 11 years (something to the extent of 59 cities in 28 countries). He called it a "celebration of silliness" which was all I really needed to have my excitement level jump through the roof, however I did maintain my calm. The group was separated and my friends and I sheepishly chose to stay together. Our actual subway car included our team leader and his gf, a couple of OWS type kids (they had occupy police tape and such on them) an older couple (the woman's name was Rusty like in Footloose) and my two friends and I. It was a nice day to be without pants in the city with some unseasonably warm weather, we sat and stood as perfect strangers on the subway amongst the tourists and other city dwellers. I was reading Tune in Tokyo: The Gaijin Diaries (a hilarious novel of one South Carolina gay male spending time living in Tokyo, a very entertaining read) on my kindle. After a while we all gathered at Union Square and it was definitely some good old fashioned sober fun (with the exception of the people who were definitely getting stoned or drunk). Parents with those baby holders (Parent and baby sans pants), seven year old children in tightey whiteys (as well as 60 year old folk in the same). Congo lines were made, "pro pants" individuals were there handing out pamphlets on the benefits, history and use of pants (they also did questionnaires, "are you pants curious?") it was a good spirited time. Evan had to depart from us, and we bid her farewell as Eric and I went back to his apartment (still pantless) and proceeded to get very stoned. Then we traveled to the after party at the Greenwich Village Country Club (on University, think suburbia style joint right south of Union Square), on our journey there we joked how funny it would be to be hit by a car while wearing a coat and boxers. The after party was fun and I wish I didn't have work Monday otherwise we probably would have gone back to Eric's spot, got hammered and returned to do the dance with no pants with fellow pantless hotties, alas I decided to be a reasonable human being. Anyway, next year if you haven't participated you totally should it was a blast. Also there is a boombox dance party Saturday 21st in the city, should be a retro good time. Peace and love, go rip a bong.

I've been thinking of this tattoo that I want to get on my upper right thigh. It would be representative of a trip I had to Amsterdam, need to find a good artist that can do some nice minor details. Figure it'll probably hurt a bit, but I am sure it'll be fun and I kind of enjoy pain a bit. Need to save up some money for it though.
