No problem. Sometimes people who work in bike shops have a 'studied nonchalance' b/c they know most people either have no idea what they're looking for, are only looking for status symbols bikes, or are just having a look-see. If you're very specific, you'll eventually find someone who can help, but you may have to specify upfront that you're not looking for a brand new bike- at least, $600 won't get you what you're looking for unless it's the Pista or Langer, and while they're nice, the preconfigured fixies limit your options further down the road. If you can find an older road frame with horizontal dropouts, it should be perfect for you.

i just beat the game this afternoon...i still have some quests to finish up though...like finding all the nirnroot in the game...but i've completed 50 out of 50 achievements (stuff like raising ranks in all of the guilds)....the dark brotherhood does rock...some of my favorite quests came from that guild...
my brother showed me some really cool stuff you can do...kind of considered cheating...but you can duplicate any non-quest item...and there's a way you can make mad money in no time...let me know if you're interested..
