I discovered Suicide Girls years ago, but I never joined the platform. I was reading an article about traditional versus alternative beauty standards, and I was taken in by the beauty that I saw on SG. The women looked like women I knew or had seen...or could see. They had freckles, stretch marks, tattoos, and blemishes, but not a single model looked "less than." In fact, I realized that they were not even examples of alternative beauty; rather, they represented real beauty, the kind that one marries and commits to for a lifetime. Or maybe marriage is not in the cards; regardless, they represent the kind of beauty that men and women remember, always seeing someone else and never being able to quite place where they've met or who else has a similar look. So why Suicide Girls? I didn't know there was another kind of girl.
