Damn this society scares the shit outta me. It seems like whenever I read a magazine or turn on the tv someone is struggling or reaching out for help. When is this world gonna turn around? When will we be able to go to sleep without fear of what tomorrow will bring?
Our economy sucks. Plain and simple we just fucked shit up. Prominent figures in business have collapsed and things I have thought will be around forever are becoming memories. The thing that scares me the most is that the industry that I recently have become a part of is in jeopardy. It's tough times for the automotive industry right now. I am lucky to have a job swinging wrenches but some of my friends are struggling and getting out of the industry. Gas prices blow and people just can't afford to buy or service their cars. I also love racing, mostly drifting, and that is hurting too. Some big aftermarket import companies are dying or have already folded. I really don't want the motorsports industry to become just another waste of money. It is far more than that and an amazing release for countless people. The feeling of being out on a track, in a car you built is incredibly freeing and at that moment it's all that matters.
They say that it's darkest before the dawn so hopefully the sun is almost on the horizon. Everyone just needs to keep hope and keep going.
