yesterday, my brother's girlfriend's sister had her thalmus glad removed. there were some minor complications, but she's doing okay now. she has a degenerative disease and I guess right now the plan is to keep her as comfortable as possible. now idea how long she'll make it.
it's kind of amazing to me how, when faced with lives like these, I am extremely impressed with the human capacity to handle fear, change, and isolation.
and I wish I had been so strong.
