two (rather, three) disconcerting things that came of my follow-up appointment with my doctor today:

1. my doctor was shocked that my appendix is fine and is now at a complete loss
2. my doctor asked me, in all seriousness, if I have an obstetrician

3. on friday, I get to drink 900ml of barium sulfate

yep. abdominal cat scan coming up!

and, because I'm already looking forward to a day off work, let's bitch about my job:
I don't think my employer has any intention of keeping me on permenantly. the desk I'm at belongs to a woman who is on maternity leave, and even though today was the first day of the month, I didn't get my own accounts. I guess it's not a huge big deal, because numerous times throughout the day I am impressed with my coworkers staggering inability to collect in a professional manner.

people respond so well to politeness and respect. I tend to sort out the workable accounts from the shit accounts. if a person is collectable, I can usually work something out. otherwise, I'm usually able to figure out exactly if the person has skipped, is insolvent, or is incapacitated. I don't just fucking call and leave messages on the answering machine every day!
