Cyanide & Happiness @ Explosm.net

my parents celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary today. congratulations!

I went shopping with my mom and sister to pick up what should have been an already purchased anniversary gift for my dad and a father's day gift, as well. we also tried to get some clothing for me, but failed miserably due to a completely lack of clothing in my size. having gigantic breasts is jusat fine when I'm not wearing anything, but when I'm trying to wear a formal dress, it can be a bit of a problem.

I don't know why people buy anything from Best Buy anymore at all. my mom did the order on-line in-store pick-up for my dad's anniversary gift today, and even though the particular item she picked out was in stock, it is their policy that it won't be available-- ever-- for 24 hours after the order is placed.

plus they seem to have no idea of inventory control, poor selection, and every employee I've dealt with while trying to buy something there has never actually known anything about the products but still acted like an expert.

mad

and then I have my (younger) sister, two years into a five year social work master's program-- today while reflecting with my mom about how I'm really running into long-term and shorttest-term memory problems (wheras my intermediate memory is still pretty sharp), she told me that if I want to be sick, I will be. I told her that, no, really, it was the six years' worth of strokes that I was dealing with, and continued my conversation with my mom. she then told me that maybe if I just listened closely my short-term memory would be better.

ignorant is not having the opportunity to learn. stupid is choosing not to learn.

I went looking for a bathouse for my dad. there's a place near here that sells really great ones, but they were all sold out. they'll be back in stock on Tuesday... so I got a gift certificate and a little pamphlet. check this out!

my family has me extremely cranky right now. it's honestly very difficult to be postive and upbeat when I'm spending sp much time with people who use language like "handicrappers."

wow, that is impressive bout your parents, definitely is somethign that you dont see often anymore..unfortunately. Yah, best buy, and just about every store out there suck ass nowadays..they dont understand they are in a customer service proffession, or if it does occur to em, they have no clue what it actually means.

Your sister sounds like she was being quite a bitch...strokes most definitely can affect memory, as well as motor, neurovascular, and verbal abilities. You said she is going to school to be a social worker...From the little bit that you have said on here, sounds like she should seriously reevaluate her chosen career path. Sorry, but that shit dont cut it. you are dealing with people in bad situations, trying to make it better using the resources available to you. That means being polite, understanding, empathetic, and not making moronic, uninformed, rude, assinine statements like she did to you...at least if she wants to have any happiness or success in that career fied....

Yah, if you do choose to go to CP it would be really great to meet ya and talk to ya in person!

Altho I am sure it is annoying and makes life difficult, your being well endowed definitely makes you a pleasure to look at!

And I LOVE Cyanide and Happiness...good stuff!

Yeah..I have been lucky enough to not really have medical problems beyond being bout as blind as a bat, and having asthma, both of which are not too bad or restrictive. I have also been lucky enough to have been raised in a family where it is accepted that there are disabled people out there and how to deal with them. Bad wording there, but I think you know what I mean. My mom has been an ER RN since before I was born, and my dad was a respiratory therapist and went back to school and is a Physicans Assistant now. I work as a medic, so people with disabilities and debilitating medical problems are nothing new or"wierd" to me. I am amazed at looking at how some people deal with the cards they have been dealt in life.

Sorry to hear that you dont have a good supportive family to help you through all of this. Feel free to vent on my blog, on the mail service here, or hell, if you want I will give ya my cell number and you can call and vent any afternoon or night when ya need to! Like I said, you seem like a really cool person, and I am hoping that you can make it to CP Day. Otherwise, I will have to see if theres a time to meet ya when I am done down there for the summer!

Hang in there beautiful!
