Unfortunately, I could get the whole room in frame, but you'll get the general idea. On the right, you'll see the wall of sound... the cabinet on the bottom is an old stereo with a turntable and 8-track that is hooked up through the other stereo and the speakers on top. On the left you see shelves with other various art and home crap, some board that will some get a coat of gesso, and yes, those are action figures hung all over the wall. It's the wall of inspiration. And yes, I'm a huge nerd, but you all knew that already. You also get a peak into the nightmare of the a kitchen which is in the process of being gutted. Believe me, the apple border was NOT my choice. What you can't see in the picture is the desk on which my new sewing machine will sit, and the giant easel off the left. Trust me, this room is much cooler in person, but more importantly, I'm really excited because it is a room that will actually get used.
(If you were wondering, the room is meant to be a dining room - hence the bad wallpaper - but up until recently, we used it for as a room for our foster "kids". Any animals that needed to be seperated from the "herd" for a variety of different reasons, would be confined to this area, which was outfitted for this. Since we are taking a break from fostering, and the whole house is open to all our kids again, we decided to make the transition.)
I went to the asian market downtown this morning and stocked up on curry paste. Weee! I also got some kaffir line leaves and various other items... I'm going to make a big pot of Tom Yum this week... who wants to come over for dinner? One thing I love is to feed people...
I should get back to work, but I'm totally procrastinating. I'm working with Sevi on this album cover for some local hip hop group. It's going to be fine, but I guess I'm just not in the mood. Tell me something inspiring...
Hugs and kisses,
Miss A

As promised... a picture of the new and improved studio...

I was up late on election night in 2000, too. The fact that the race was too close to call wasn't so bad. What the conservative justices of the U.S. Supreme Court did, on the other hand, really pissed me off. We probably wouldn't have all of the problems that we have today if it weren't for that decision. That caused me to lose all respect for the conservative justices of the Supreme Court. I will likely never forgive them. They're a bunch of assholes!
There is a good deal of housing in the area. Unfortunately, anything more than a room is quite expensive--especially on my budget. I'm using Craigslist to find properties. It seems to work pretty well. I'm due to look at a few properties soon. Another good one just popped up on Craigslist, so I replied with my typical questions.
I found about moving out before my landlady told me. She had already moved in with her boyfriend and left a letter on her desk stating that she would be releasing the townhouse to the cooperative at the end of November. It's kind of a crappy way of finding out, especially since I wasn't expecting to move out that soon. I had to select this property on short notice, though, because my old jerk of a landlord gave me less than three weeks notice that he wouldn't be renewing my lease. Of course, he still hasn't repaid my security deposit, so I am due to take him to small claims court soon. I'll be suing him for double the damages. I never would have selected this property had I known that I would be moving out five months later. My parents are old and I put them through quite a lot to help me move. Some landlords are really inconsiderate, you know.
I suspect that Hillary Clinton and maybe Barack Obama will be the Democratic frontrunners (perhaps on the same ticket). I don't think that Al Gore will run again. Wesley Clark might run again, but he really needs to improve on his political skills to be elected President. He really should consider running for lower office first. Personally, I think it would be great if Dennis Kucinich were electable. He's my kind of liberal.
John McCain and Rudy Giuliani will probably be the Republican frontrunners (perhaps on the same ticket). They will be difficult to beat. Both have a lot of popularity on both sides of the aisle.
The outcome of the upcoming election will have a lot to do with determining the outcome of the upcoming presidential election. A win for the Democrats will help them immeasurably. How they would govern over the next two years would be decisive.
A win for the Republicans this election cycle would be a blow to the Democrats and a blow to their chances of winning the upcoming presidential election. How the Republicans would govern over the next two years would be decisive.
If Bush were smart, he would announce the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq (and Afghanistan) before the upcoming election. If he were to start to withdraw a substantial number of troops before the election, it would help the Republicans a great deal.
Capturing Osama bin Laden before the election would turn the tables on the Democrats. Having Hussein sentenced two days before the election will have little impact on the outcome of the upcoming election.
