I went in for the scan yesterday. That was a trip. The tech that did it was this big guy wearing Marvel comic scrubs who smelled like floor cleaner. When he put in the IV for the contrast dye, he poked the vein or something and I started spraying blood. It was like something from an SNL sketch. He was all "whoops, looks like I'm making a mess..." Yeah, with my blood, jackass. I have a killer bruise today from it. Amateur. The dye is really weird. When he finally shot me up with it, I got all warm and felt like I needed to pee. Huh. Because the swelling in my neck had gotten worse, we then headed back over to my doctor's office. Since the infection was not reacting to the steroids and antibiotics, and was still travelling, I got yet another shot of antibiotics and they decided to drain it from the inside of my lip.
Talk about gross. I couldn't really fel it while they were doing it because I was numbed up, but today I look like I was hit by a truck. I'm swollen and bruised from the doctor pushing the infection out of my face and neck. But goddamn it if I don't feel a bit better today. Of course, they did give me painkillers so weee! I'm sore, sure, but most of the heat and pain from the infection is gone. Now I can go to the dentist too. I still need to follow up with my doctor in a few days, but I think I'm over the hump, fingers crossed. Though, I'm kinda bitter I had to spend so much money on Rx and co-pays on the week before my birthday when I really wanted to go out this weekend. Bleh. I'm so sleepy. Yawn. Its probably the drugs, but yaaaawwn... I might have to nap.
