If the above is true, then how can marijuana be illegal?
Bear with me while I explain...
Heroin was originally produced for mass consumption by Bayer (the asprin co.) and is still used for medical purposes today (albeit on a limited basis). Pain killers such as Vicodin, Percoset, and Oxycontin (hillbilly heroin) are all perfectly legal, very easy to get, hell, you can even order them online. Let's single out just one as an example:

So let me get this straight.... the LEGAL drug is addictive, dangerous and will back your shit up.
But with pot, what is the worst that could happen? You might eat your weight in Cheetos and play hours of video games. Big fucking whoop.
For the endless number of people (myself included) that smoke for medicinal purposes, it can be a life changing thing. For me, the options are a) smoke weed, feel like a human being or b) take a cocktail of medications that knock me out for 8-14 hours at a time, have horrible side effects, they cost $100 a month per perscription, and leave me a zombie trapped in my own body. So... in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, how can it be that something that improves someone's quailty of life is illegal? By denying it, wouldn't that be considered cruel and unusual? The FDA and the government have approved far worse things, and as far as I'm concerned, by withholding it from the people who actually need it, you might as well be telling us all to bend over.
