So, I hate accidentally making fun of people to their face without even knowing it.

This kinda came about from something I did a couple years ago. I was at my wife's Dad's house for Thanksgiving and just talking it up with all the random family peeps (Whom I had only known for maybe a year, but realistically only seen them once or twice previous to this get together. . . . .)
Anyway. . . . .

I was kind of ranting to my wife's Aunt about all of the popular names being used these days: Aeden, Kaden Jaden, etc. It's as if people were trying to pick out a name that nobody else was using, yet I'm pretty sure they were the most popular names given to newborns in 2006. So, I'm going on and on to her, "And it's so lame. I mean Aeden, Kaden, Jaden, and can you believe, Bladen?!?!? I mean come on now."

It wasn't until a few minutes later my wife let me know that the Aunt I was ranting to the whole time actually had a kid named Bladen. . . . . . . . .well. . . . . . .awesome. . . . . . . . .Don't I feel like the nicest guy. . . . .
Turned out that it was actually her husbands son before they got married, so she was more Stepmother than actual. . . . . .which I guess may have softened the blow a little. . . . . .I still felt like a complete jackass though.

Oh wells. I'm sure I'll eventually come up with more less-insulting ways to break the ice.


P.S. I typed this up at 2 in the morning. . . . . . . .so if it's weird/crappy/ineligible. . .I'm not apologizing
