So far, this design is running really slllllooooowww...
And there is too much of the click & load going on.

I hadn't discovered the boards around here until recently (could've been under better circumstances..), and I don't know how many other people really notice that link next to "Groups", but here's a thread for complaint/praise of the new layout if anyone feels like letting 'em know what you think.

Seriousness and angst below:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Damn...can't let it go for this journal. Maybe it's the regret that I didn't bookmark her journal earlier to get to know her, or the fact that she was so beautiful and so young and I don't know what happened and find myself looking around at comments, journals here, at myspace, couple other blogs (LP and Apnea) to try and somehow connect, figure it out. Maybe it's because the loss of someone so young, but who I get the impression lived life to the fullest, puts this harsh spotlight on my own life and what is and isn't happening with it...
It's probably a combination of all three...someone I never really got to know, but ever since I read the news in a random journal entry, Benni's death has gotten me down...and yet, I've also been trying to work past that, to somehow take something positive from it, from her life and let it inspire me to get going on some things once I can get past this funk. Hmm..might be easier if I could stay away for more than a day from SG wink Also didn't help that Easter sort of sucked. Sub-acutes (sp?), hospitals, rest homes, rehab homes...none of them are fun places to visit. And visiting a loved one who's been in and out of any of the above for the past...what, year or almost a year, now....it's not the most pleasant experience...which is probably why I don't go as often as I should. Probably also why I went to Quencher's Sunday night to hang out with some good people instead of heading to the Mac lab at school to get any homework done...

...and above.

So, I got to see TMNT this weekend. The whole movie looked great, and the fight in the rain on the rooftop...gorgeous. I was also happy that the movie really stayed true to the spirit and attitude of the original Eastman and Laird comics. Okay, y'know, I told a few people I thought the movie was just "okay" ...I didn't feel like it pulled me in at the time, but the more I think about it...that flick was actually pretty good. Now granted, if you'd ask me to recommend a "an animated super hero movie containing humor and themes of family, brotherhood, duty, finding your way while something makes you different from everyone else"...well, I'd probably still point you to The Incredibles, but as a Turtles fan (4 life! wink ), I can wholeheartedly recommend TMNT. Plus, it really did have some nice Casey Jones stuff in it, and I thought it was cool how none of the turtles had any qualms about just sitting back and watching the Foot get pummeled by a big monster. ..and I'm pretty sure some Foot ninjas got sliced up in that final battle.
Now, the purist in me kind of wishes they'd make all their masks red, like in the original comic (well, on the covers at least), and maybe just make the different green skin tones more obvious in order to tell them apart.
Wonder what they'll do for a possible sequel. Maybe return of Shredder..But the Fugitoid/Triceraton story in the comics was also really cool.

Now..I just gotta see Grindhouse.

Kirk? Picard? My mom grew up watching Kirk, but I grew up watching Picard. Hard decision it is. I definitely like Patrick Stewart's sexy voice better. rrrrraaaarrr miao!!
