Early this morning I heard a song
Which unlocked the past I've hidden so long
A former life, full of belonging and happiness
I didn't realize I was so blessed

Until I compare the present with my life once lived
I've taken for granted the lessons they tried to give
But now the memories return with a vengance
Becoming worse and worse with every circumstance
