I just finished reading Starship Troopers by Heinlein, which was pretty good. So, I figured I'd watch the movie. Good god. I don't even know what to make of it. It's almost like the people doing the special effects actually made the movie. They all got together and, without any experience, did all the casting, costumes, sets, etc. then they thought of the most fun ways they could possibly kill things and applied that. The strange thing is that the end result is brilliant. All I've ever heard about it is that it's either the worst film ever made or clever, depending on if you take it seriously or not. Anyway, for no reason, in the middle of the movie, "fade into you" by mazzy star was playing in the background (really, randomly, because there's really not much other music in the background at any other point of the movie except a school dance) and it just came up on my playlist right now so that's what propted me to say anything.
