yes, i know he did originally try to sell it as a novel. but that's really no excuse for then selling it as non-fiction. in fact, that makes it worse i think. he actually acknowledged that it was fictional, tried to sell it, got turned down, and then decided to call it non-fiction and tried to sell it again! the publisher told him to remove ALL FICTIONAL EVENTS from the book and that they would then publish it as a memoir. it's just really irritating.

we had a very long discussion about chili. he claims the greatest steak chili is made in texas, i say there's no way steak chili beats vegan chili, even to meat lovers. so we're taking both chilis on tour. thirteen colleges (because they're hungry there!) in three weeks. i'll let you know the details.
