The store that I work at is closing after today. So for the past week, though we have been open and people could buy things, all our rentals (i work in a video store) are being transferred to other stores.

Well I came into work on friday after haviing two days off to find that the day before the district leader had all the area store managers come in and they took stuff. Mind you I wouldn't have cared much if it was stuff we weren't needing or using but the first thing I noticed is the "Open" sign is gone. So are all the inside signs including the ones that tell people what sales are going on for the things they can buy.

Ok fair enough. It's stupid but whatever, then I find out that they took all the paper towels, toilet paper, most of the garbage bags and even the trash can that was in the bathroom!!!

Then later I find out that they've taken the pencil sharpener and all the extra pencils. Mind you, we are using pencils to mark on all the transfer papers as we pull the rentals. Plus the kicker to all this is someone took our microwave!!! There will be people working in the store til at least the 20th!!! How incredibly inconsiderate to say the least.

My point in telling you all this is that yesterday the girl I work with was cleaning up a mess of food that the people the night before left all over the desk and she spilled a chocolate milkshake all over the floor. So she starts wiping it up with paper towels and trying to get the stickiness off with window cleaner. So I tell her, "Wait, I'll go get the mop." HAHAHAHAHA what the fuck was I thinking? I opened the room where we keep the mop. Not only is there no mop but there's no vacuum, bucket or much of anything left in the room.

Thank the gods there was no one in the store but us at that moment because the amount of profanity the spewed out of my mouth was horrid!

So after much ranting I finally calmed down a bit and cleaned up the mess with more window cleaner and paper towels.

The coolest thing happened shortly afterwards. A lady came in and asked if I was working all alone. I explained that there was someone else working in the back and she said good and proceded to take out a box of fresh doughnuts and some OJ along with cups and napkins and explained that she was from the local baptist church and her sunday school class wanted to show their appreciation for us working on a Saturday so other people could enjoy their weekend. I tell you after the crappy treatment we have been getting from the people that work for the company, I thankfully no longer work for, it was truly like manna from heaven.
