You know, I'm really disappointed Bush is still our president, but not as disappointed as I thought I'd be. After seeing the record numbers of voters show up at the polls, and how excited and concerned people were with this election, it gives me a little more faith in the human race. Well, Americans, at least. Maybe if people start giving a shit about who's leading them, they'll take a bigger role in other aspects of their lives concerning living in America.
Of course, I'm still on a high from watching election coverage and feeling good about voting. So ... probably not.
But I have a lot of respect for Kerry for stepping down and declaring Bush the winner instead of having the president elected through the court system.

I'm tired. I want to sleep. Sleeping is the best thing ever invented or discovered. it's so..comforting.
I hate it when i'm sleeping but i know i should be awake but i can't quite muster the energy, so i get a gross feeling in my stomach cuz i feel guilty for not waking up.
and then the cat bites my foot. then you just HAVE to wake up.

I went to my first halloween party on sunday. it was pretty damn amazing. A friend of ours is the head chef at the country club, and he threw such a huge shindig. Good food, of course, but he also had around 75 bottles of wine, an irish band, a huge bonfire...it was so much fun. met a cute skeleton, (i think, he was wearing makeup).
Life is okay.

On the other hand, life makes me so sad. I was just looking over the boards, and some dipshit made a comment about how now that abortion, morning after pills, etc are going to be harder to get, women should just start being careful and stop getting pregnant.
are all men so stupid? so ignorant of the life of a woman?
I can't even begin to tell you the stories i've heard from female friends of mine about how they turned down a guy (or didn't turn down) for sex because he wouldn't wear a condom. It's been my personal experience that guys make up every excuse in the book not to wear one. I've heard them all "It won't fit", or "I don't have one right now, but next time, I promise", or "I can't feel anything when I use one", or "It's uncomfortable".
bullshit.
Not all guys are like that, i know that, but to hear someone say that it's the woman's fault they get pregnant is one of the most ignorant things i've ever had the misfortune to hear. Sure, women can go on birth control, (I am), but many woman have side effects from the hormones. Just reading in the girls group makes me realize how widespread that is. This isn't an excuse, per se, but it is a couple's responsibility to prevent pregnancy and disease, not one or the other. Sadly enough, it usually gets put on the woman, simply because she is the one that will have to bear the child.
I've had to use the morning after pill and I'm thankful i had the chance. I can say right now that I'm going to the planned parenthood and getting an extra prescription of it just in case, if it's going to be harder to get.
accidents do happen. rape happens. alcohol happens, drugs happen, faulty contraceptives happen. and as i was saying before, it's usually the woman that pays.

That being said, I want to hug all the good guys out there.
