I'm in a pissy mood. See, Kos? I'm not ALWAYS in a good mood.

First off, some jackwipe, I suppose I'll refrain from naming names, seems to think that graphic designers and/or web designers aren't as important as other types of designers, like architects.

Ignorant people that love to start arguments and pit one group against another piss me off. There's no reason for that, maybe heart surgeons make more money than ditch diggers, but the world needs both, you know? To start quibbling about design and who's better is just ridiculous, especially for someone who has no experience in other kinds of design.

And today: I work for a manufacturer's representative, and I'm designing what's called a "line card". It simply lists all the manufacturers we represent and has a logo of each so they can be identified at a glance.

Well, the only logos i have for a couple of the companies are these tiny little gif images from their website. I mentioned it to my boss that he might want to get bigger logos, and he starts going on about copyright info and lawyers and usage and stuff. I definitely understand where he's coming from, but I can't believe these damn businesses are that uptight about it that they wouldn't want their reps to be able to represent them in a graphically pleasing way. SO i've had to recreate these damn logos from scratch. I had to create my very own stencil font, which isn't that hard, I figured out.

Live and learn, I guess.
